TxDOT Drive SAFE Program and City of Abilene MPO support the annual ride and County Judge Phil Crowley will provide opening remarks to the cyclists attending. Abilene PD will escort the riders on the 5 mile course.

Notes: Since 2016, Steamboat Cycling Club in Abilene has sponsored the annual Ride of Silence that begins and ends at Bike Town, 1789 Industrial Blvd. The 4 mile course is open to all riders - 14 and up. Riders must wear helmets and have front/rear lights. Riders should show up by 6:45 for opening comments and wheels out are at 7 pm.

Notes: Join us for another Ride of Silence in Coppell, Texas, where we will honor those we have lost and raise awareness for cycling safety. We have held this ride for almost 20 years. Our 11 mile route encircles Coppell and unites cyclists of all skill levels, ages, and surrounding communities. We start and finish at Coppell Town Center: 255 Parkway Blvd. Please arrive by 6:45 pm with helmets and lights for a powerful community experience.

• This will be the nineteenth (19th) year that the Ride of Silence takes place in the Permian Basin.

• Wednesday, May 21, 2025 7:00 p.m. rollout.
• Memorial Ceremony starts at 6:45

Why:
• To honor and remember the cyclists killed in the Permian Basin
• To educate bicyclists and motorists alike of our shared responsibilities when we share the road


How:
• Approximately eight (8) miles starting and ending at the Mid-Cities Church, going no faster than 12 mph on the 191 Access Road to 158 and back. We will stop at the Memorial Ghost Bikes along the route to pay respects to cyclists we have lost.
