Notes: Please come and join the Illinois Valley Wheelm'n & Bike Peoria for the 2016 Peoria Ride of Silence. This is a world-wide movement (www.rideofsilence.org) on the 3rd Wednesday of each year to remember those cyclists who have been killed or injured while riding their bicycles.

Peoria riders will begin gathering at Glen Oak Park (playground parking lot) around 6:30 PM. Shortly before 7 PM, a few words will be said about the event prior to our group leaving the park promptly at 7 PM. Everybody will ride as a group along the 8.2 mile route with the Peoria Police Department providing lead/tail support - as well as support at each major intersection. Because this is intended as a memorial ride, speeds will be kept at 10 MPH or slower, and riders are encouraged to *NOT* talk unless required for safety reasons only (no chit-chat, please). In addition, no bike ride , bike tour or bike race promotions are to be distributed. After a short program at the Salvation Army Citadel, riders will complete the 8.2 mile loop back to Glen Oak Park.

This ride is FREE and helmets will be required to participate - NO EXCEPTIONS! All riders are asked to be 18 years and older, or 10 years with a legal parent or guardian present if the rider is on their own bicycle. Children in trailers will be allowed, but the pulling bicyclist must be able to keep up with group. If you have any question, please contact Fai at 517-927-9425
