Notes: | https://www.facebook.com/events/1185683339958104 WeeklyRides and Bike Law North Carolina invite you to join us on May 21st for the 2025 Charlotte Ride of Silence. We ride to Remember, Honor, and Celebrate cyclists who have been hit or killed while riding their bicycles. The ride is completed in silence at a slow pace. We will start and finish at Triple C Brewing. All riders are welcome to stay and enjoy post-ride food and beverages from Triple C Brewing. Triple C is hosting John G's BBQ on the 21st as well. Parking will be a challenge with both events so we encourage you to ride to the ride or arrive early enough to find parking. We appreciate your patience. Interested in helping with the event? We will need a few riders to help lead the group and work the few intersections we ride through. Send us a note if you would like to help. |

Distance: | 4.1 mi. |
Notes: | Oaks and Spokes is leading a Ride of Silence through downtown Raleigh. We will start from the NC Capitol ground, covering 4.1 miles of streets of downtown Raleigh that has various levels of bicycle infrastructure--protected and unprotected bike lanes, Sharrows, and open lanes--in order 1) experience the active transportation infrastructure that Raleigh has already been building and maintaining; 2) identify the gaps in the City's current "Bikeway" that still need to improve and connect; 3) advocate the City Councils to dedicate funding in strategizing the next Active Transportation Plan, and to continue dedicate funding to implement the current Bike Plan to completion. The significance of the 4.1 miles in the route is in remembrance of the 41 bicyclists who lost their life on NC roads in the year 2024. |
