|Notes:||For the 4th year in a row, Medford will be hosting the 2016 National Ride of Silence on May 18th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. The Ride of Silence is a national bike ride in honor of those cyclists who have been injured or killed, while riding on public roadways. The ride is also used to promote bicycle safety and awareness of sharing the road.
This year the event is especially dear to our hearts, as a result of the tragic and sudden death of one of our own, Eileen Marmino, a 34 year old mother of two. As you are aware, she was tragically struck and killed on her 7th wedding anniversary while cycling in Medford this past summer. More information here: http://www.courierpostonline.com/story/news/local/south-jersey/2015/07/15/marmino-markowitz-bicycle-crash-medford/30210795/
The Medford branch of the ride will be approx. 7 miles at a slow and silent pace of 12 miles per hour through beautiful farmlands, neighborhoods, and downtown of Medford, beginning and ending at Freedom Park in Medford NJ. The roads are temporarily closed for the ride, and we receive police escort from the Medford township.
